Estate Sale Basics:

    An estate sale or estate liquidation is a sale or auction to dispose of a substantial portion of the materials owned by a person who is recently deceased or who must dispose of their personal property to facilitate a move or downsizing. Southern Accents Trading Company (SATC) will meet with clients prior to an estate sale. The family is asked about the overall intentions of the sale and advised to remove or isolate all the personal items they would like to keep. The week of the scheduled sale, SATC staff prepares the items for sale. Light general cleaning, organizing, displaying, inventory, picture taking, and pricing is completed. Estate Sales are generally held on the weekends for two or three days, depending on the quality and quantity of the personal property. SATC handles all the aspects of the sale - before, during, and after - therefore, the executor, trustee, conservator or owner need not be present. When the sale is over, you can elect which previously explained option tous to have unsold items handled.

Our Estate Sale Process:

Schedule – Together we will schedule a date for the event. Each event usually runs between one and three days.

Staging – The goal of our team is to stage your home or business as a showroom. This provides the best shopping experience for our shoppers and in return dramatically increasing sales potential for your items. Staging/pricing usually takes between five and seven days largely depending on the size of the estate. 

Pricing – Each item will be marked with a price tag with the exception of small items. ie... service utensils, linens, clothes, shoes, household chemicals, common books etc. We research and appraise each of your items in accordance with today’s fair market value. In some situations our team will identify certain items that are better suited for consignment or auction. In these cases we can collect these items and sell them in agreed upon appropriate manner.

Photography – We will take extensive photos for proper advertising of the sale.

Advertising – We extensively market the sale using the internet such as  a nation-wide estate sale listing website that has thousands of subscribers, in addition we use craigslist and facebook. In addition we promote your sale on our web page and in our store fronts. Through our multi-layer approach to advertising, we look forward to both a well-attended and lucrative sale!

Signage – On the day of the sale, professional signs will be strategically placed around your neighborhood to ensure maximum attendance, if the city or community covenants allow.

Staffing – All events will have a cashier and as many sales associates as needed.

Accounting - Once the Estate Sale Event has ended we provide a itemized accounting detail of the items that was sold, the gross amount realized for each item, the total fees incurred, and the total net proceeds.

Friendly Reminder:

    Please do not throw or donate any items away prior to the initial meeting with Southern Accents Trading Company representatives. The only items you should secure are personal papers, documents, checks, identifications, birth certificates, and military papers. Please be sure to take your time to make a list and or remove what will remain with family.
